Plane With Nine Tons of Explosives Detained in Moscow

n officials confiscated nine tons of explosives that were found Friday on a cargo plane bound from Vienna to Kazakstan via Moscow, the Russian State Customs Committee said.
Customs officials were checking documents related to the flight and shipment, which they said appeared suspicious. The officials would not provide any further details.
The plane was on its way from the
Austria
n capital to the city of Dzhezkagan in central Kazakstan.
The Interfax news agency said the cargo had been sent by
Spain
's Union Espanol to the Kazakstan Corporation and that the plane had 594 detonators aboard.
