MOFTEC Official on Managing Foreign Trade On-Line Networks

The construction of information projects is conducive to effective administration, said a senior official with the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (MOFTEC) Thursday.

During a two-day working conference on construction of information projects, opened here Thursday, Gao Hucheng, assistant to the minister of MOFTEC, made the comments on Chinese on-line networks concerning foreign trade management in response to relevant questions from the press.

He briefed the press on the Golden Customs Project, which has four sectors, including quota license management, import and export statistics, export drawback, and cancel management after foreign currency verification in trade, has been generally accomplished.

Besides the Golden Customs Project, Gao said, MOFTEC on-line networks also cover on-line connection between governmental branches for the administrative and service purposes in a bid to promote efficiency and regularity.

Gao mentioned the newly-built MOFTEC department of e-commerce administration, saying that the department helps to separate the on-line administration and operation functions.

In order to better serve foreign trade enterprises, Gao said, the department of e-commerce administration will become a governmental branch managing information projects construction in the field of foreign trade, while the Chinese international e-commerce center will provide technical maintenance and the on-line platform.
