China's Top Advisers Briefed on CPC Plenum

China's top advisory body, the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), met in Beijing Thursday to be briefed on the plenum of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee that ended Wednesday.

Li Ruihuan, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, was present at the meeting, which was presided over by vice-chairman Ye Xuanping.

Zeng Qinghong, head of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, delivered a report on the sixth plenum of the 15th Central Committee of the CPC, held on September 24-26.

Zeng said the plenum was focused on the building of the party's style in the new era and that it is important for the preparation of the upcoming 16th CPC National Congress.

"The plenum has chosen a good time and adopted key issues of the time on its agenda. It is unanimously supported by those both in and outside the party," he said.

Zeng noted that the decision passed at the plenum on strengthening and improving the building of the party style is a product of a democratic process that draws on the wisdom of the whole party, guided by Jiang Zemin.

He called the decision an "outstanding document" that will guide the party in its improvement of work style in the coming years.
