90th Anniversary of Revolution of 1911 to Be Marked

A range of activities will be held to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the Revolution of 1911 in October in Guangzhou, one of the major gates to the outside world in south China.

The events will include a grand gathering before the Cemetery for the 72 Martyrs at Huanghuagang, a photo exhibition and a symposium.

Similar activities will also be held in other Chinese cities to mark the occasion.

On October 10, 1911, a popular uprising against the government of Qing Dynasty broke out first in Wuchang, central China's Hubei Province, which led to the overthrowing of the Qing Dynasty and the establishment of the first democratic government in China.
