Moore: China Should Learn How to Cope with Multilateral Trade

WTO Secretary General Moore said that WTO usually holds more than 2000 meetings every year, 10 meetings on each working day, and for some countries not every one of them can take part in all the meetings. As a result, it appears very important for a country to know various WTO regulations in economic exchanging activities between member countries.

Moore said that what China could not suit most is from bilateral trade to multilateral trade. China did not participate in any regional agreement organizations, only one APEC, which is not an actual economic body. After China joins WTO, it will face a multilateral environment. For example, if China encounters light bulb dumping, America brings the case to court, EU will come after, then several others will follow suit, the third side will all ask for suit, by then, China will face many countries' interest demands. Therefore, Chinese enterprises should turn their eyes on how to grasp skills in handling multilateral trade.
