Cambodian Government Supports CCPPRC's Work: Deputy PM

Sar Kheng, deputy Prime Minister and Co-Minister of the Ministry of Interior, said Wednesday in Phnom Penh that the Royal government would support the work of the Cambodian Council for Promotion of Peaceful Reunification of China (CCPPRC) and hoped that China will reach the goal of reunification at an early date.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the CCPPRC held here Wednesday night, the deputy Prime Minister stressed that Cambodia and China have enjoyed long-standing friendly relationship. He believed that the relationship will be further strengthened.

He highly spoke of the Cambodian Chinese, saying they have made great contributions to the construction of the country.

CCPPRC Holds Inaugural Ceremony

The Directors of the Cambodian Council for Promotion of Peaceful Reunification of China (CCPPRC) officially assumed office here Wednesday night at the Le Royal Hotel, stressing that the aim of the CCPPRC is to realize the reunification and rejuvenation of China.

Addressing the inauguration, Duong Chhiv, Chairman of CCPPRC, said Cambodian Chinese, like all overseas Chinese all over the world, wholeheartedly hope that the mainland of China and Taiwan will expand contacts in the interests of the Chinese nation, and reach consensus at an early date to realize the unification of China.

The Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council sent a congratulatory message to the CCPPRC.

The CCPPRC was set up on April 21, 2001 in Phnom Penh
