Jiang Zemin Meets IBM Chairman
Chinese President
Jiang Zemin
met Thursday afternoon with Louis Gerstner, chairman and president of the International Business Machines Corp. (IBM) and his party.
Jiang affirmed the cooperation between IBM and China's information industry and expressed his support to the further economic and technological cooperation between the two sides.
He hoped IBM would increase investment in and enhance technology transfer to China so as to tap the potentials of cooperation between the two sides for mutual development.
Gerstner said IBM was confident of its development in China and was willing to strengthen cooperation with China's information industry.
Gerstner is on a visit to China at the invitation of the
Ministry of Information Industry
