China-Nepal Friendship Highly Praised in Nepal

President of Nepal-China Society Purna Bahadur Wednesday praised the good relations between Nepal and China and expressed the confidence that the trans- Himalayan friendship will be further consolidated in the future.

"The friendship between Nepal and China can be dated back to hundreds of years, and the good relations has been developed into close cooperation in the fields of economy, trade and culture in recent years," said Bahadur at a reception marking the 52nd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

"I am hopeful that the cooperation will be enlarged into other areas and the friendly ties will be further promoted," he added.

Speaking on the occasion, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Wu Congyong said China values very much the friendship with Nepal as it has been proved that the good relations between the two countries have not only served the interests of the two peoples but have also contributed to peace and stability in Asia.

Wu Congyong expressed the wish that China-Nepal friendship will be further enhanced in the new century.

About 300 people, including Nepali governmental officials, Chinese and foreign diplomats in Nepal and Nepali people from all walks of life, participated in the reception hosted by the Nepal- China Society, a non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting Nepal-China relations.
