Products Expo to Promote HK Brands

The 36th Hong Kong Products Expo will be inaugurated on December 15 to promote Hong Kong-made products and brands, organizers of the expo announced Wednesday.

The 24-day event will continue to play its role in promoting Hong Kong's industrial development, assisting local manufacturers to develop home and overseas market, enhancing economic exchange and cooperation between Hong Kong, the Chinese mainland, and other countries, while providing a leisure and shopping place for tourists and the public, organizers said.

The expo this year will be held under the theme "HKPE: A Showcase of Hong Kong Brands," aiming to encourage local enterprises to create and develop their own brands and to raise the standards and status of Hong Kong's industry, said Chan Wing Kee, President of the sponsor organization, the Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong.

To coincide with the theme, a "Brandname Square" will be firstly established in this year's expo. Covering an area of about 5,000 square meters with over 120 standard booths, the square will provide a platform for the assembly and promotion of local quality brands.

In addition to the "Brandname Square", this year's expo will also comprise "the Chinese Medicine Pavilion", "Technology Zone", "Eco Gallery", "All-in-One Pavilion" and "Shanghai Pavilion", featuring altogether 300 indoor booths and 250 outdoor booths.
