HK Administrative Secretary to Visit Guangzhou

Administrative Secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Donald Tsang, will leave for Guangzhou Thursday to promote cooperation between the two places, Tsang said on Wednesday.

The purpose of the visit was to follow up on the initiatives agreed at the fourth Hong Kong/Guangdong Co-operation Joint Conference regarding the control points and cross boundary infrastructure projects, said Tsang.

Tsang is scheduled to have separate meetings Thursday with Governor of the Guangdong Provincial Government, Lu Ruihua, and the Mayor of Guangzhou, Lin Shushen. He will meet the Mayor of Shenzhen, Yu Youjun, on Friday.

Tsang will be accompanied on the visit by government officials including the head of Hong Kong Guangdong Cooperation Coordination Unit, Kitty Choi, and Deputy Secretary for Security, Michael Wong.
