China to Build Three Air Traffic Control CentersDuring the tenth Five-year Plan period (2001-2005), China will input nearly RMB 0.7bn yuan in setting up three modern air traffic management and control centers in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, according to sources from the contract-signing ceremony of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) in Beijing.As reported, some 70 percent of China's flights shuttle between cities in east China, especially in the triangular area of Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. During the said period, China will build all kinds of air traffic management and control systems with the building of the three centers as key projects.
