Foreign Artists Stage Performances for Chinese Farmers

Foreign artists on Monday staged performances for over 2,000 Chinese farmers in the suburbs of Beijing.

At Daying Village in Tongzhou District in eastern Beijing, farmers gathered in the fields and roads watching colorful song and dance performances by folk artists from a number of countries, including France, Britain, Mongolia and Pakistan.

The farmers also joined the performances by rendering folk songs and dances.

The foreign artists were impressed by the comfortable and modern life of the local Chinese farmers, whose living standard has been greatly improved by booming ecological tourism and economic development.
