Four Lantern Carnivals Set for Mid-Autumn Festival in HK
Hong Kong's Leisure and Cultural Services Department will organize four Mid-Autumn Lantern Carnivals to celebrate the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival.
The Music and Dance Troupe of Shaanxi Song and Dance Theater will perform in the four carnivals staging a variety of dance and music repertoires that reflect the cultural richness of Tang Dynasty, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department said.
Spectacular lanterns will be displayed at four venues to add festive atmosphere to the carnivals. Symbolizing prosperity and peace, two new spectacular lanterns "Phoenix Greeting the Dragon" and "Dragons and Phoenix" will be displayed.
The Mid-Autumn lantern carnivals will be complete with other attractive performances such as popular Cantonese and Western songs, acrobatics and roving entertainment. Other festive activities include art and crafts stalls, riddle quiz, traditional Chinese cuisine demonstration and fortune-telling.
