Sino-German Forum on Banking

A dozen specialists from the banking community and universities of Germany, along with Chinese financial officials and banking experts, are attending a forum that began Monday in Hangzhou, capital of east China's Zhejiang Province.

At the forum, participants will concentrate on the impact of China's upcoming admission into the World Trade Organization (WTO) on the country's banking sector and will discuss issues including management of credit risks and standards of international accounting.

The forum is jointly sponsored by the Chinese Ministry of Finance, the Federal Economic Cooperation and Development Department of Germany, the Reconstruction Credit Bank of Germany, and the Bank of China.

The forum will be closed Wednesday.
