China Holds Bronze Wares Exhibition in Baghdad

The week-long Chinese Exhibition of Bronze Wares began on Sunday in Baghdad, the Iraqi capital and Iraqi Minister of Culture Hamed Yussef Humadi cut the ribbon at the opening ceremony.

Chinese Ambassador to Iraq Zhang Weiqiu told Xinhua that the exhibition displays a collection of 45 bronze wares dating back to more than 3,000 years ago.

It is part of the cultural exchanges between the two countries of ancient civilization, Zhang said, adding that the Chinese Embassy in Baghdad will hold more similar cultural exhibitions in Iraq in the future.

"I believe that the exhibition will enhance the cultural cooperation between China and Iraq and thus help promote the bilateral relations," he said.

In addition to Iraqi Cultural Ministry officials, diplomats from embassies of foreign countries, including Russia, Iran, Vietnam, Oman and Yugoslavia, also attended the ceremony.
