New Labor Market to Regulate Labor Service SectorAn international labor force market in west China's Chongqing Municipality started operation Sunday to standardize the functioning of local institutions that are qualified to assign local laborers abroad.The market, which includes 21 local enterprises authorized by the government to arrange people to work in overseas regions, has selected over 3,000 working positions in some 30 countries and regions in the world, including the United States, Japan and Singapore. The market, under the supervision of the municipal Foreign Trade and Economy Commission (FTEC) and some other labor force departments, will operate in accordance with the rules of the market economy to protect the legal rights and interests of the labor force, according to FTEC officials. The FTEC will offer consultation, loan, notarization and arbitration services. It will also offer information about job vacancies, backgrounds of enterprises, and related rules and regulations through its computer system. The municipality has a total of 37 enterprises that are qualified to sent workers abroad. So far, more than 50,000 local people have obtained jobs in 51 countries and overseas regions, statistics show. |
