Reception Marks 30th Anniversary of Sino-Belgian Ties
Belgian Ambassador to China Johan Maricou gave a reception Monday to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Belgium.
Maricou told 350 participants that Belgium and China have achieved great success in cooperation in the fields of economy, culture and education since 1971, when Sino-Belgian ties were established.
Maricou said that he expected further development of cooperation between the two sides in the new century.
According to him, the Belgian Embassy to China has hosted a series of activities marking the 30th anniversary of Sino-Belgian ties, including a painting exhibition in Shanghai and inviting a delegation of artists from Tianjin to give performances in Brussels, the Belgian capital.
A well-known Belgian band named Lais and a Chinese band gave performances at the reception.
