Taliban Mobilises 300,000 People for War
Afghanistan's ruling Taliban has mobilised 300,000 Afghans for jihad, or holy war, against the United States, the Islamic militia's defence minister said Monday.
"In the present situation the ministry of defence has registered an extra 300,000 people who are experienced in jihad," the minister, Mullah Obaidullah, said in a statement released to journalists in Kabul.
"They have been registered in the capital, the borders and other important sites."
