China to Promote Export of Machinery and Electronic Products
China is set to improve the quality of its machinery and electronic products so as to promote their export, said an official with the Office of Machinery & Electronic Products Import & Export Monday in Wuhan.
At the ongoing second China Wuhan International Machinery and Electronic Products Fair, Wei Jianguo, director of the office, said the central government expects the export of such products to reach 180 billion U.S. dollars and account for half or so of the total export volume in 2005.
The last seven months has seen a rise of 15.6 percent in such export, totaling 64.65 billion U.S. dollars.
The director said that to boost the sector, five strategies will be adopted including improvement of quality, renovation of technology, market expansion and development of western regions.
