Tibet Becomes Favorable Choice for Shanghai Tourists

As China's National Day vacation draws near, more Shanghai citizens will choose to travel around the Tibet Autonomous Region.

A six-day package tour to Tibet jointly initiated by the Tibet tourist bureau and five Shanghai local travel agencies has attracted many Shanghai citizens to register.

Covering Lhasa, Gyangze County and Xigaze County, the tour route will show the tourists the unique culture and enchanting natural scenes in Tibet.

Many other tourist routes are also very popular among Shanghai citizens. The Potala Palace, Yamzho Yumco Lake and Mount Qomolangma have become their favorite destinations.

According to statistics, Tibet hosted 500,000 tourists from home and abroad last year, with the tourist revenue reaching 630 million yuan (about 76 million U.S.dollars).
