Facts & Figures: China's Trade With European Partners

Following are the latest figures about China's trade with major European partners from January to July, 2001, provided by the General Administration of Customs:

-- Germany: total, 12.812 billion US dollars, up 17.6 percent year-on-year; Exports, 5.302 billion US dollars, up 3.2 percent; Imports, 7.510 billion US dollars, up 30.4 percent.

-- The United Kingdom: total, 5.701 billion US dollars, up 7. 3 percent; Exports, 3.706 billion US dollars, up 8.7 percent; Imports, 1.995 billion US dollars, up 4.7 percent.

-- Russia: total, 5.542 billion US dollars, up 29.9 percent; Exports, 1.267 billion US dollars, up 18.3 percent; Imports, 4. 275 billion US dollars, up 33.8 percent.

-- The Netherlands: total, 4.956 billion US dollars, up 11.5 percent; Exports, 4.117 billion US dollars, up 8.6 percent; Imports, 838.980 million US dollars, up 28.1 percent.

-- Italy: total, 4.538 billion US dollars, up 17.6 percent; Exports, 2.396 billion US dollars, up 7.3 percent; Imports, 2. 142 billion US dollars, up 31.7 percent.

-- France: total, 4.485 billion US dollars, up 12.6 percent; Exports, 2.208 billion US dollars, up 8.5 percent; Imports, 2. 278 billion US dollars, up 17.0 percent.

-- Belgium: total, 2.543 billion US dollars, up 19.5 percent; Exports, 1.456 billion US dollars, up 10.7 percent; Imports, 997. 235 million US dollars, up 35.4 percent.

-- Sweden: total, 1.942 billion US dollars, up 0.5 percent; Exports, 607.208 million US dollars, up 36.7 percent; Imports, 1. 335 billion US dollars, down 10.3 percent.

-- Finland: total, 1.940 billion US dollars, up 15.3 percent; Exports, 469.973 million US dollars, up 12.9 percent; Imports, 1. 470 billion US dollars, up 16.1 percent.

-- Spain: total, 1.729 billion US dollars, up 6.4 percent; Exports, 1.337 billion US dollars, up 4.7 percent; Imports, 391. 797 million US dollars, up 12.7 percent.
