Embraer Vows to Increase Cooperation with Chinese Partners

The Embraer Aviation Corporation of Brazil displayed an eye-catching model cabin of its newest jetliner at the ongoing Ninth China Aviation Expo in Beijing.

"We hope to expand Chinese lateral air routes with comfortable and low-cost airliners," a senior official with Embraer said.

According to the market outlook released recently by Embraer, China will need 285 more lateral airliners, mainly used in short flights and in the western areas.

Since Embraer sold its first plane to China last year, it has strengthened ties with China's Sichuan Airlines. With the name of Western Express, the EMB 145 set a world record for its daily usage rate in China.

Embraer will soon join hands with the China Aviation Supplies Import and Export Corporation to set up an aircraft spare parts center in order to guarantee the effective and adequate customer support to Chinese operators, the Embraer official said.
