Books on China's Anti-Japanese War Published

A series of new book on the Chinese people's war against Japanese invasion were released Friday, aiming to teach students in primary schools and middle schools the facts of history.

The series are composed of 41 books each with about 20,000 Chinese characters, reviewing the wars of aggression provoked by the Japanese militarists and the war crimes committed by them, from the 1894-1895 Sino-Japanese War to the Japanese surrender in 1945.

The books also pay tribute to the spirit of the Chinese people, who showed strength and determination in their fight against invaders and for the nation's independence.

Experts said that many young Chinese don't know what it's like to be ruled and oppressed by foreign invaders.

Japanese right-wing factions have consistently denied or distorted the country's criminal past, and published books to fog the young Japanese's understanding of the wars of aggression and of the militarism.
