Civil Aircraft Market to Be Expanded in China

China's civil aircraft market will witness a big boom according to a latest forecast on China's aviation market development in the coming 20 years provided by China Aviation Industry Corporation I.

The report said that with the rapid development of China's tourism industry, China's impending entry to the World Trade Organization, the holding of 2008 Olympics games, the strategy for western development and the regrouping of domestic airlines will all benefit China's air transportation market. As predicted from 2001 to 2020, the average growth rate for China's passenger transportation will reach 8.3 percent, higher than the average growth rate of the world air transportation over the same period and China will be the most potential market in the world.

By 2020, China is expected to have 1,852 passenger planes, and 538 will be planes to fly on feeder-lines. Considering the increasing needs for transportation volume and current planes to quit from service, China Aviation Administration will replenish a total of 1,690 planes in the coming 20 years, with 79.6 percent of which to be used for meeting the needs of transportation growth and 20.4 percent for replacing junk planes.

The reports stressed that the feeder-line transportation will become a new boomer and there will be a great need for feeder-line planes with the proportion for such planes to be increased to 31.5 percent from the current 14.7 percent.

The forecast does not include Hong Kong and Macao's aviation companies.
