Global Aviation Giants Predict Promising Chinese Market

The global aviation market has suffered a big loss due to the terrorist attacks occurred in the United States on September 11, but plane manufacturers still predicted a promising Chinese commercial aviation market and forecast a rapid growth of commercial aviation in the two decades to come in China.

Over 200 foreign companies from the United States, Australia, Brazil, France, Germany and other countries and regions have participated in the event.

The show is jointly sponsored by the General Administration of Civil Aviation, China Aviation Industry Corporation I, China Aviation Industry Corporation II and China Promotion Ltd.

China will need 1,764 new commercial jet airplanes worth 144 billion US dollars between 2001 and 2020. By 2020, Chinese airlines will have in possession more than 2,200 airplanes, making China the second large civil aviation market nest only to the US in the world, according to Boeing 's latest report, Current Market Outlook - The China Market Forecast 2001.

China is one of the fastest growing markets in the world for civil aviation, according to the report. In the coming 20 years, China's annual GDP will top 6.1 percent the highest in the world, while the growth of China's transportation total volume will even surpass that figure.
