China to Launch Nationwide Inspection on Product Quality
The State Administration of Quality Supervision and Quarantine will soon launch a nationwide inspection on the quality of products which have an important bearing on the lives of the people.
The inspection will be focused on five varieties of products including wheat powder, rice, edible oil, soy sauce and vinegar, said Wang Qinping, deputy director of the administration.
During an interview with Xinhua, Wang said that at present, counterfeit and shoddy products of the aforementioned five varieties have been frequently found, posing a serious threat to the health of the people.
The legal status, production equipment, raw materials, product quality standards and product quality examination ability of related enterprises will be under scrutiny, the official said.
Quality supervision departments in all provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities are asked to complete the job before December 15.
