Symposium Aims to Deepen Cooperation Between China's Inland, Macao

A symposium opened Tuesday with the aim to strengthen the scientific and technological cooperation between Macao and China's inland.

The Macao International Symposium on Scientific and Technological Cooperation was sponsored by a number of scientific and technological associations from Macao and China's inland.

After two-year preparatory work, experts and scholars from the inland brought to Macao many high-tech projects with great market potentiality and low risks, covering the sectors of machinery, electronics, textile and food processing.

The participants will discuss how to build a high-tech garden in Macao and jointly train scientific and technological talents in the four-day symposium.

The authorities will also introduce Macao's investment environment and role of bridge between China's inland and Europe.

Wang Jinxiang, deputy director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) and Ao Man Long, secretary for transportation and public works of the SAR government, cut ribbons for the inauguration ceremony of the symposium.
