Situation Along Pakistan-Afghan Border Usual: Pakistan's Military Spokesman

A Pakistani military spokesman said on Monday that the situation along Pakistan- Afghanistan border was usual and no unusual activity was being carried out by either side.

The spokesman of the Inter-Services Public Relation (ISPR) denied an earlier report claiming huge quantity of scud missiles were deployed by the Taliban along Durand Line, the demarcation separating Afghanistan and Pakistan, and rebuked it was baseless and concocted.

"The news item is a childish attempt issued without sensitizing the situation," said the spokesman.

He added that a number of Afghans had gathered on the border to enter into Pakistan in seek of refuge resulted from fears of anticipatory U.S. strikes on their homeland.
