China's Fixed Asset Investment Keeps Growing
Fixed asset investment in China kept growing at a faster rate in August, surging 21.4 percent year-on-year to 220 billion yuan (26.6 billion U.S. dollars).
The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said Monday that the August growth rate was one percentage point higher than that in July.
NBS figures show that China's investment in fixed assets totaled 1,331.1 billion yuan in January-August, 18.9 percent more than in the same period of last year.
The NBS said that investment in infrastructure, technological upgrading and real estate development picked up speed in August, and the central parts of the country led other areas in terms of growth rate.
