Macao SAR Officials Take Oath of Office
Macao's police commander and customs chief took oath of office Monday under the supervision of Edmund Ho Hau Wah, chief executive of the special administrative region (SAR).

Jose Proenca Branco, 43, was sworn in as chief commander of the police force in the SAR, while the 36-year-old Choi Lai Hang was sworn in as chief of the customs office. They are both Macao-born Chinese.

Both officials pledged to uphold the Basic Law of the Macao SAR of the People's Republic of China (PRC), be loyal to the Macao SAR of the PRC, fulfill their duties wholeheartedly, abide by the law, be clean and honest and work hard for the SAR.
