Preparation Kicked off in Commemoration of 600th Anniversary of Zheng He's Voyage

The Ministry of Communications has lately set up a leading team for making preparation to commemorate the 600th anniversary of Zheng He's navigation to the west.

Zheng He is a brilliant person of the Chinese nation who sailed seven times to the west, which showed China's economic strength and sailing technique in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). The fact tells that the Chinese people have been making friendly contacts and cultural and economic exchanges with the people of other countries in history.

The year 2005 marks the 600th anniversary of Zheng He's westward expedition, and by then a grand ceremony will be conducted under the theme of "friendly relationships with neighbor countries and application of science in navigation"to commemorate the heroic prowess by the Chinese people in history.
