Retiree Donates Photo Album Depicting Japanese Soldiers' Atrocities

A retired worker in Tianjin has given the local government an album of pictures recording the Japanese aggression against China more than half a century ago.

The gift comes just before September 18, the 70th anniversary of the Japanese invasion of China's northeast region.

The album consists of 150 paintings, sketches, block prints by Japanese soldiers in World War II. The pictures depict Japanese troops' atrocities, and battle scenes in northeast China, north China, Yunan Province, east China and Hong Kong.

The album stands as rare evidence of Japan's aggression on China, since the pictures were made by Japanese themselves, the worker said.
