China-US MMCA Meeting Concludes in Guam

China and the US Saturday completed the two-day Military Maritime Consultative Agreement (MMCA) meeting in Guam, agreeing to maintain contacts and discussions for the proper solving of the issues on military safety on the sea, according to sources of the Ministry of National Defense.

The two sides reached consensus to continue consultation in this regard.

During the meeting, the Chinese side expounded its views on the cause of unsafety on the sea, principles of the international law that the two sides should observe to ensure military safety on the sea and the safety principles to be established. The US side also expressed views on the issues of its concern.

The meeting was positive, pragmatic and frank.

The meeting was delayed a day due to the terrorist attacks in the US The Chinese delegation expressed mourning for the deceased and sympathy to their family members. The US thanked for it.
