Chinese Premier Back in Beijing

Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji returned to Beijing Saturday after completing a successful official visit to Ireland, Belgium, Russia and Kazakhstan.

During his visit, Zhu attended the fourth Sino-European Summit meeting, the sixth regular meeting between the prime ministers of China and Russia and the first Prime Ministers' Meeting of the member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

Greeting Zhu at the Great Hall of the People were Vice-Premier Qian Qichen, State Councilor and Secretary-General of the State Council Wang Zhongyu and other senior Chinese officials, as well as diplomatic envoys from the above-mentioned four countries and the European Union.

Zhu's entourage, including his wife Lao An, State Councilor Wu Yi and Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan also returned aboard the same plane.
