The U.S. House of Representatives on Friday overwhelmingly approved a resolution authorizing President George W. Bush to use force against those responsible for terrorist attacks on the
United States
.
The U.S. Senate unanimously approved a similar resolution earlier Friday.
The resolutions give U.S. president the green light to use all necessary and appropriate force against those responsible for Tuesday's terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Washington.
