Mexico Captures Suspected U.S. Cocaine Trafficker
Mexico's Federal Police agents have captured a man believed to be the leader of one of the most important cocaine distribution rings in Dallas of the United States, Mexican authorities said on Friday.
A communique from Mexican Attorney General's Office said Terrance James Hopkins was arrested on Wednesday in the Caribbean resort town of Cancun in southeastern Mexico as he attempted to pick up a wire transfer from the United States.
The office said Hopkins faces drug charges in the U.S. city of Dallas, Texas, and had been wearing a court-ordered electronic monitor during the judicial proceedings.
Hopkins removed the device when he fled to Cancun where he had lived since January, 2001, the office said.
