Sixth Tibet Autonomous Regional Congress of CPC Closes

The Sixth Tibet Autonomous Regional Congress of the Communist Party of China closed in Lhasa Friday.

The congress elected a 65-member committee and a new commission for discipline inspection.

Guo Jinlong, secretary of the Tibet Autonomous Regional Committee of the CPC, delivered a work report at the meeting in which he summarized the region's political and economic achievements.

Guo's report also expressed determination to maintain political and social stability, enhance CPC's leadership in Tibet and promote the region's economic developments.

The five-day congress passed the secretary's report.
