First International Silk Road Clothing, Adornment Festival to be Staged

The first international silk road clothing and adornment festival will be staged later this month in this capital of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, the organizer said.

About 250 domestic and overseas clothing enterprises are expected to attend the five-day festival. A variety of fashion shows and garment displays will be held.

The festival combines clothing exhibitions and sales, and a clothing and dance show. An ethnic groups' costume show and a clothing development forum will also be staged during the festival.

Urumqi used to be a key town along the famous silk road which connected business in the east and west in ancient times.
