Black Boxes of Airliner That Hit Pentagon Found: Pentagon Official

The flight data and voice data recorders of the hijacked plane that slammed into the Pentagon were found in the rubble Friday, said a Pentagon spokesman.

The recorders, dubbed "black boxes," have been sent to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for further examination, said the spokesman.

The American Airlines jetliner, hijacked shortly after taking off from the Dulles International Airport en route to Los Angeles, crashed into the Defense Department building Tuesday.
