He expressed the hope that President Nathan's visit will further promote the understanding and friendship between the two peoples and bilateral friendly cooperation.

He said that since the two countries established diplomatic relations 10 years ago, leaders of both sides have maintained frequent visits and contacts, bilateral cooperation in economics and trade, science and technology, culture, education and other fields has resulted in great achievements, and the two sides have maintained a good negotiation mechanism in international and regional affairs.

Li said that at the beginning of the century, Sino-Singaporean relations have displayed an all-round and in-depth development momentum, for which the Chinese side feels satisfied. The Chinese side is willing to reinforce bilateral cooperation on the basis of the related cooperative documents reached by the two sides.

He also introduced China's NPC system and legal construction conditions to the Singaporean guests.
