Bank Robbers Sentenced to Death
Six people who robbed a bank in central China's Henan Province were sentenced to death and deprived of all property Friday in Zhengzhou.
Zhang Shuhai, Zhang Hongchao, Zhang Shijing, Qiao Hongjun, Zhang Yuping, and Zhang Xiaoma were convicted of robbing three bank offices in separate cases and a local residence between the autumn of 1996 and December 9 last year. In the December 9 case, a security guard was shot dead by Zhang Shuhai.
They were also deprived of political rights for life.
With hunting rifles, explosives, and hammers, they have robbed banks of over 2.5 million yuan (30,200 U.S. dollars) in total, according to the Zhengzhou Intermediate People's Court.
