Win Not Means Guarantee for Qualification: Milutinovic

A win over Uzbekistan will put China in an ideal position, but never means a guarantee for qualification for the World Cup finals, China's head coach Bora Milutinovic said Thursday in Shenyang.

Group leaders China are to play their most dangerous rivals Uzbekistan in an expectedly tough World Cup qualifier here on Saturday. Milutinovic said he would try to help China win the match, but that in no way means China will qualify for the World Cup finals.

"If we win the match, we'll have ten points, that is far from enough for qualification," he said.

"Of course the win will undoubtedly put us in an ideal position," he said.

The Serb said China will take their home-turf advantage to win the match. "I have a lot of good players, and the biggest advantage for us is the home fans' support. And we'll make the most of it to beat our opponents," he said.
