Top Legislator Meets Heads of Thai Chinese Associations
Top Chinese legislator Li Peng met Thursday with a delegation of leaders of Chinese associations in Thailand.

Li, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, welcomed the delegation's visit to China. His wife Zhu Lin also attended the meeting.

Li said China and Thailand have a friendly relationship, and exchanges between leaders and business communities of the two countries will promote mutual friendship.

He said he hopes that the Thai Chinese communities will continue to develop this friendship.

Li also briefed the guests on China's economic development and the western China development strategy.

The delegation is composed of major leaders of the nine largest Chinese associations in Thailand.
