Chinese Senior Officer Meets Syrian Guests
Cao Gangchuan, director of the General Armament Department of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, met here Wednesday with Hassan Tourekmans, deputy chief of the general staff of the Syrian armed forces, and his party.
Cao said that China and Syria have enjoyed long-term friendship, and the two countries have maintained fruitful cooperation in political, economic and cultural fields since they forged diplomatic ties 45 years ago.
The Chinese military is ready to work with its Syrian counterpart to promote friendly relations in all fields, he said.
Cao expressed gratitude for the support of Syria on the one- China policy and the human rights issue.
Hassan thanked the Chinese government for its political, economic and moral support to Syria, hoping to further the relations between Syria and China.
