North China's Largest Electronics Factory Built
Construction of an electronic products factory, believed to be the largest of its kind in northern China, started Wednesday at the Zhongguancun Science and Technology Zone which has been termed as China's "Silicon Valley".
The factory, covering 1,500 square meters, was co-funded by the Np. Six Electronic Research Institute under the Ministry of Information Industry and the Helishi System Engineering Company.
Equipped with three advanced production lines, it is expected to produce 5 million items annually.
Operation of the factory marks the termination of the traditional production pattern in which products were developed in northern China and manufactured in southern China.
