Preparations for WCEC Have Been Completed

All the necessary preparations for the Sixth World Chinese Entrepreneur Convention have been completed, Jing Shuping, one of the convention organizers, said Tuesday.

More than 3,000 Chinese business people from abroad and 1,500 entrepreneurs from across China are expected to attend the upcoming convention, said Jing, who is also president of the All- China Federation of Industry and Commerce.

The convention will promote cooperation and exchanges among Chinese business people all over the world in the 21st century, he said.

Humankind is in an information era. In the process of accelerating globalization, Chinese business people in and out of China will gather in Nanjing to discuss how to cope with the challenges in the new century. This is an exciting event, Jing said.

In an effort to make overseas Chinese have a better understanding of the economic situation and investment environment in China, Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji and Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Li Ruihuan will deliver speeches. Three economists will also give lectures on development in Western China and China's financial reform.
