Exhibition Initiated to Promote HK TourismA series of exhibitions showcasing the future tourism development and favorite tourist attractions in Hong Kong will be mounted throughout the city to enable the community to have a better understanding of the tourism industry, a government release said Monday.The exhibition outlines the government's plans for future development of new tourism clusters and attractions, and for upgrading existing attraction to further enhance Hong Kong's position as a world-class tourist destination. It highlights major events and the 18 district attractions under the two-year program of "City of Life: Hong Kong is it!", the Hong Kong Disneyland project, the Tung Chung Cable Car System, the tourism node at Yam O and the Ma Wan Park. It introduces new tourism attractions at south-east Kowloon and the West Kowloon Reclamation area. It features also the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade Beautification Project. On the Hong Kong Island, it features the enhancement schemes in Stanley and the Peak, and the future development of a tourism node in Aberdeen. On nature, culture and heritage, it highlights the Hong Kong Wetland Park and the former Marine Police Headquarters at Tsim Sha Tsui. The exhibition will bring home the message that the tourism industry plays an important part in Hong Kong's economy and that the further development of tourism deserves the support of everyone in the community. |
