Putin, Bush Discuss Preparations for Upcoming Summit

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday had a telephone conversation with his US counterpart George W. Bush on preparation of the next Russian-US summit, scheduled on October in Shanghai, China.

Putin and Bush stressed that the upcoming Shanghai summit, to be held as part of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit, " will become an important preparation stage for the full-format Russian-U.S. summit," the presidential press service said.

The two presidents also expressed their "satisfaction over the development of bilateral relations and the intensity of contacts in the military-political, economic, and other spheres of cooperation, which are carried out at various levels," the service said.
