Int'l Forum on China and World in the 21st Century Opens in Beijing
"The International Forum -- China and World in the 21st Century", sponsored by the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), opened Monday in Beijing.
The three-day forum attracted various former state leaders, renowned scholars and delegates totaling more than 200.
Chinese vice-premier Qian Qichen delivered a keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the forum, which was presided over by Mei Zhaorong, president of the CPIFA.
According to sources with the CPIFA, participants will exchange views on major issues, such as the development of the international situation, opportunities and challenges China is facing, China's influence on the world, in the 21st century.
