Earthquake Shakes Los AngelesAn earthquake registering 4.2 on the Richter Scale shook the greater Los Angeles area Sunday. The quake was felt at approximately 5 p.m. PT (8 p.m. EST). The center of the quake was one mile southeast of West Hollywood, according to The Associated Press. It was felt in Van Nuys, Whittier and Glendale. The quake struck with a hard thud-like sound, according to Reuters. It was atypical for quakes in California. "It was strong enough to know immediately what was happening," said Marcia Zellers, of Silverlake. "Sometimes things start shaking and you aren't sure if it's an earthquake or not. But this time the furniture shook, the windows shook and it was pretty obvious it was an earthquake." There were no reports of any damage or injuries.
